2011-2012 Season Results
Congratulations to the Port Huron Predators, our Junior 18 & Under Intermediate team coached by Steve Pillon and Mike Basha, for winning the Midwest Section Championship in Indianapolis on August 5, 2012! They advanced to Nationals in Cayce, SC on October 26-28. The Port Huron Times Herald highlighted the team’s success in the August 14, 2012 edition. In their hunt for the National Championship the weekend of October 26-28, the Predators won their round robin matches 3-0 on Friday and Saturday morning. Then they earned a 53-41 semi final victory on Saturday afternoon. The Predators’ final match on Sunday morning was against the Easter Section team, the JAMF Drop Shots from New Rochelle, NY. The Predators made a strong showing and were up by 8 points going into the last match. However, Eastern’s JAMF Drop Shots fought back from a deficit to win the Championship, 45-44. All the kids played their hearts out and represented the Tennis House, Port Huron and the Midwest well with their efforts both on and off the court! An incredible season comes to an end by finishing No. 2 in the country – what an achievement!
