Update for Indoor Season & Lessons – October 2020

Dear Members,

As the leaves and acorns fall, and the temperatures drop, it’s time to prepare for the true indoor season. We have been blessed with a beautiful fall which enabled us to do many classes and private lessons outdoor, but that time is unfortunately nearing the end. With the Covid 19 situation still with us, we want to review some of our club protocols going forward, with the hope and goal of being able to enjoy our sport safely throughout the winter months.

First, a giant thank you for the cooperation we have received regarding facemask use in the lobby area. Fortunately we are able to take them off once the court area is reached, but we do need to stay vigilant in the lobby and restroom areas. If you forget your facemask we do have some available in the vestibule. There is also lots of hand sanitizer throughout the club, please use it! In addition there are canisters of wipes in the lobby and locker rooms, and on the court caddies for your use. For the foreseeable future towel service and shower facilities will remain unavailable. The locker rooms may be used for a quick change of clothes and restroom use only. We apologize for any inconvenience and will update as circumstances change.

Finally, if you use a demo please return it to the bucket near the front desk, and the staff will take care of it. Additionally we request that only pros and desk staff enter the back of the pro shop. Our desk staff and pros are doing everything we can to keep the club and equipment sanitized. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions please share them. We’re all in this together, and we all have the common goals of continuing to play and getting through the pandemic.

Regarding our junior groups we plan to keep the same schedule up until the holiday break; clinics will meet Monday and Tuesday 2-3, Wednesday and Thursday 6-7, and the competitive groups will meet Monday-Thursday 4-6. The new 7 week session will begin on November 2nd. Please let the front desk know if your child will be participating in the next session. Also, because we have adult leagues beginning at 6:00 on most evenings, classes will finish a few minutes early to accommodate the transition. Please plan to drop off and pick up your child(ren) as close as possible to start and finish times to alleviate crowding in the lobby. Also, as we move indoor we request spectators to be sure to observe social distancing and if possible, limit guests to one per child.

Match play opportunities will be announced shortly. We strongly recommend supervised match play to help all juniors learn scoring, court etiquette and match strategy for both singles and doubles. Some players still have sessions left from last spring that can be used for this year’s play. Times and pricing details will be available soon.

Again, thank you for your patience and cooperation as we navigate through these crazy times. It’s been great to see everyone back playing, laughing and enjoying life a little!!

Be well.
