At this time each year Paul Costanza awards local athletes for great performances. Paul says “the PAULIEs are the BlueWater Area’s ESPYs.” This year some of our Tennis House athletes were given a PAULIE, and we wanted to congratulate them for being recognized. “Best Championship Performance: Lizzie Brozovich, Alexis Wirtz and Franni Basha, Port Huron Northern girls tennis. The Huskies needed points from all over the lineup to win the Division 1 state title, but the state titles at No. 2 singles (Brozovich) and No. 1 doubles (Wirtz and Basha) put them over the top. In both flights, they defeated higher seeds in straight sets in the final.” And, the Port Huron Northern girls tennis team took home the Runner-Up award for “Best Team.” Congratulations, ladies, for a job well-done!
