Instructors and Fitness

Dave Brown
formerly of Sandusky, is a USPTA certified pro actively involved in coaching many sectionally and nationally ranked junior players, both privately and at Southeast Michigan Area Training Center. Dave played college tennis at Oakland University where he was selected to the GLIAC all-conference team two years. Dave is our Head Pro and in charge of our very successful Junior program.

 

 

Steve Pillon
a graduate of Western Michigan University, Steve was a top Division 1 tennis player and had an excellent junior and college career. Steve, a certified USPTA teaching professional, is very excited to bring his playing and coaching expertise back to the Blue Water Area. Juniors and adults alike will benefit from his expertise.

 

 

Glenn Johnson
is another of our PHTH teaching pros. Glenn helps with our Junior programs in addition to teaching many adult classes and private lessons. Glenn played #1 at Bowling Green University for 4 years. He was a highly ranked Junior player. Glenn has been with us since 1978. He has also been inducted into the Port Huron Sports Hall of Fame.

 

 

Michele Winfield
is a certified USPTA teaching professional who has been part of the Tennis House for many years. Michele teaches both adult and junior private and group lessons, in addition to Cardio Tennis.

 

 

Tiffany Odlum
has returned to Michigan from Southern Florida to join our staff. She is a certified USPTA teaching professional who offers clinics and privates for all ages and abilities. Tiffany also works with our Junior Competitive Programs.

 

 

Steve “Cal” McCalmon
completed his collegiate tennis career at Easter Michigan University, has several years of experience as instructor, and has coached at the high school level. Cal resumed teaching at the Tennis House in 2011 and works with the junior competitive program and adult clinics.

 

 

Justin 003abJustin Sabourin
was formerly the Head Professional at Genesee Valley Sports Center and has been PTR Certified since 2006. He is a member of the USTA Midwest Coaches Commission and has served on the Midwest Adult Competition Committee since 2011. Justin is available for both adult and junior instruction.

 

 

Karen Basha
is an NASM (National Academy of Sports Medicine) Certified Personal Trainer,┬áCES (Corrective Exercise Specialist), and group fitness instructor with over 10 years of fitness industry experience. She also has a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Wayne State University. Karen is available for personal or small group training sessions and also offers several circuit training classes.
